1931 FORD MODEL A
A 1931 Ford Deluxe Coupe, with sidelights, interior overhead light and pin stripe on dash. This car is an amateur restoration and maybe as good as a grade 2 car, completed about 5 years ago, it has a professional repaint in the original colors of Ford Maroon and Black with Vermillion wheels and pinstripes. The Engine and Transmission are original (numbers match the VIN) and may have never been rebuilt but it runs and shifts very well, the speedometer reads 50,037 miles and may be the correct mileage for the vehicle. According to Ford records only 12,067 of this model was manufactured in 1931, this car is a little rarer than most you see now as this one still has a trunk and hasn’t been converted to a Rumble Seat, but a conversion could be still done as kits are available. The interior isn’t stock but was re-covered very nicely many years ago, utilizing some of what appears to be the original materials, the only non stock item in the interior is a water gauge which could be easily removed leaving no damage. The body has no rust, damage or filler under the paint, there is some minor rust damage on floor pans which can be seen from under the car, it has very good quality fiberglass replacement fenders which are solid and cannot be detected from the original steel ones. The engine compartment has not been detailed, the firewall was repainted, the engine was not and the engine is basically as Henry built it with some minor improvements such as an air filter, modern leak less water pump and distributor plate, but it appears stock. The Brakes were redone with cast iron brake drums (also looks stock), new brake rods and all components were changed including wheel bearings, this car still has mechanical brakes but stops as well as a modern car without power brakes. A second tail light was added for safety, the electrical system is the original 6 volt positive ground system, the headlights have 6 volt sealed beams installed inside the original cans. Lots of work has been done to this car and most original parts that have been removed have been retained and are included with it, as are other spare parts, all improvements have been recorded and will be made available to purchaser. This is not a show car but it wasn’t intended to be, this is a beautiful driver or parade car that is guaranteed to turn heads where ever it goes, I have decided to sell it only because I have other projects and have no room to store it.
