1963 FORD GALAXIE 500
SOLD!!! I know you'll take good care of her Mike. All i'm asking is $9.5k. My reason behind the sale is that I have alot of bills to pay, especially to UVA hospital for 6 surgeries for my newborn son. I know I'm losing money at this price, but I'm a hobbiest, not a car salesman. But I will tell you that it is in pretty good shape considering it's age and it has been stored in a heated garage for over a little over 25 years. The NADA book/website says the value is $12,040 average (that's including 40% for the engine option). I'm sure my car is worth more than that and I'm sure if I had alot of time to sell it, I'd make something off of it, but like I said, I'm not making anything with this car. I need to sell it ASAP. Date: April 08, 1963 Dist. Code: Charlotte NOTE: Axle ratio and trans code do not appear on data plate after DSO#, not sure why though. also, not sure what the original axle ratio was but it now has a 9" rear and the transmission is a 3spd Cruise-O-Matic that shifts smoothly and I think that it may be the original. This car has been stored for about 25 years in a heated garage. odometer reads a little over 70k miles which i believe to be accurate. the car still runs off a 289 which was rebuilt almost 2 years ago (i'm not sure if it's the original block though). it no longer runs on it's very mild factory specs. when the motor was rebuilt, a Holley 4bbl replaced the crumby 2bbl, and has a Holley "Contender" aluminum intake manifold, a mild street cam, dual exhaust, glasspacks, and Holley aluminum valve covers. it's no 195hp mill, i'd say it's still not a whole lot of power, but it's enough to lug this Gal around. just recently i replaced the battery, thermostat housing, radiator hose and return, brake master cylinder and line, rebuilt generator, air cleaner. and a power steering pressure hose.
